Graphs (Y1-Y6)

General guidelines:

• A ruler and a sharp pencil should should always be used

• Year 1, 2 and 3 should draw graphs on squared paper.

• Year 4, 5 and 6 should draw graphs on graph paper.

• Axes should be given titles and, if necessary, have units recorded in brackets. For example: Time (s) or Temperature (°c)

• The 'y' axis should have the dependent variable (factor that you are measuring).

• The 'x' axis should have the independent variable (factor that you are changing).

• Every graph should have a title that starts with 'A graph to show....'
